Granules India Q1 net surges 60% to ₹180 cr on higher revenue
Growth in the contribution of complex generics and from Europe and rest of world markets boosted revenues

Generic drugmaker Granules India reported 60% year-on-year (YoY) surge in net profit to ₹179.96 crore on higher revenues from operations. in the first quarter (Q1) of FY2027.
Growth in the contribution of complex generics and from Europe and rest of world markets boosted the revenue by 22% YoY to ₹1,476.8 crore, even as share of North American market dipped to 72% against 77% in Q1FY26.
Complex generic products share in finished dosages (FD) moved up YoY from 39% to 50%, lifting gross margin to 65.6% and earnings before interest, depreciation, taxes and amortisation (Ebitda) margin to 22.9%, the company said.
FD, active pharmaceuticals ingredients (API), pharmaceutical formulation intermediates (PFI) and peptides CDMO contributed 74%, 13%, 9% and 4% of revenue from operations respectively.
Dip sequentially
On a sequential basis, net profit fell 11% while the revenue was flat. For the March quarter, Granules had registered ₹2,01.5 crore net profit and ₹1,470 crore revenue from operations.
Highlighting that external cost pressures and supply chain volatility require continuous management for next couple of quarters, CMD Krishna Prasad Chigurupati said the company is “continuing to invest in research and development, largely towards complex generics, digitalisation, operational excellence sustainability and talent to support long-term value creation.”
