Gold paste worth ₹2 crore seized from Tamil Nadu couple at Kochi airport
Customs officials at Kochi airport seized gold paste worth approximately ₹2 crore from a couple traveling from Tamil Nadu. The suspects attempted to smuggle the contraband by concealing it within their clothing during transit.

Air Intelligence Unit officials intercepted a husband and wife at Cochin International Airport following their arrival from overseas. During a detailed inspection, authorities discovered a large quantity of gold in paste form hidden on their persons.
The investigation revealed that the gold was meticulously concealed inside the stitched waistline of the trousers worn by the accused. The seized material weighed significantly and has an estimated market value of ₹2 crore, marking a major enforcement action at the terminal.
