Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has instructed the Forest Department and the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) to work in close coordination to enhance security protocols. This follows reports of leopard movement near the pedestrian routes leading to the hill shrine, raising concerns over the safety of those trekking to Tirumala.
As part of the safety initiative, the Deputy CM called for the deployment of H.A.N.U.M.A.N security teams and the strategic clearing of thickets along the footpaths to increase visibility. These actions are intended to prevent wild animal encounters and provide a more secure environment for the thousands of pilgrims who use these paths daily.
Devotees have been strongly advised to travel in large groups rather than venturing alone, a practice recommended to deter potential wildlife attacks. Officials are also tasked with maintaining continuous monitoring of the area to track animal movements and respond quickly to any further sightings. (Source: News Excerpt)
