Electoral roll revision: Karnataka CEO reviews Mysuru SIR progress

Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) V. Anbu Kumar reviewed the progress of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Mysuru district and directed election officials to ensure greater transparency by sharing weekly updates on voters identified under the ASDDO (Absent, Shifted, Death, Duplicate and Other) category with recognised political parties.

During his visit to Mysuru on Saturday (July 18), Mr. Kumar chaired a review meeting with Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer G. Lakshmikanth Reddy, zilla panchayat CEO S. Yukesh Kumar, Mysuru City Corporation Commissioner M.K. Savitha, Additional District Election Officer and Additional Deputy Commissioner R. Aishwarya, besides Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs).

Reviewing the progress of the revision exercise, the CEO clarified doubts raised by election officials and issued directions for the timely completion of the process. He instructed EROs to hold regular meetings with representatives of recognised political parties, while Booth Level Officers (BLOs) were asked to coordinate with Booth Level Agents (BLA-2) appointed by the parties.

Mr. Kumar also directed officials to give political parties weekly progress reports on the SIR exercise, including details of voters identified under the ASDDO category, to enhance transparency and facilitate verification. He stressed that all stages of the revision process should be completed within the prescribed timeline.
