Delhi Police Bust Fake Currency Racket, Kingpin Among 3 Arrested
The Delhi Police have dismantled an organized network involved in the distribution of counterfeit banknotes following a successful operation in north Delhi. Three individuals, including the suspected mastermind, were apprehended after a local shopkeeper reported suspicious currency notes.

The investigation began when a shopkeeper in the Bhalswa Dairy area alerted authorities after detecting counterfeit currency while processing a customer's payment. Police officials responded to the tip-off, leading to the initial apprehension and subsequent identification of the larger supply chain.
During the operation, the police managed to arrest three key members of the syndicate, including the individual identified as the kingpin of the racket. High-quality fake Indian currency notes were recovered during the raids, though the exact valuation of the seized bills has not yet been detailed.
Preliminary reports suggest the gang had been active in several parts of the city, targeting small business owners and busy markets to circulate the forged notes. The suspects are currently in custody as investigators work to trace the printing source and any potential international links to the operation. Source: Delhi Police News Release.
