Delhi Metro shuts 16 stations due to ‘security reasons’
The closures come amid the ongoing Cockroach Janta Party protest at Jantar Mantar

At least 16 metro stations in Delhi, including Rajiv Chowk, Central Secretariat and Mandi House, were closed on Wednesday morning (July 22, 2026) due to “security reasons”, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said.

The closures come amid the ongoing Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar.
“Due to security reasons... the metro stations have been closed till further instructions,” DMRC said in a post on X.
The list of closed metro stations is mentioned below:
- Lok Kalyan Marg
- Rajiv Chowk
- Patel Chowk
- Ramakrishna Ashram Marg
- Barakhambha Road
- Supreme Court
- Seva Teerth
- Janpath
- Mandi House
- Central Secretariat
- ITO
- Delhi Gate
- Indraprastha
- Khan Market
- Jor Bagh
- Shivaji Stadium
The interchange facility remains available at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat, it said.
Several metro stations were closed on Monday (July 20, 2026) as thousands converged in central Delhi in response to the CJP’s call to march to Parliament over alleged examination irregularities.
