Delhi HC orders Meta to take down ‘pirated’ Zee content from Facebook
The Delhi High Court has directed Meta to remove specific Facebook links that allegedly host pirated content belonging to Zee Entertainment Enterprises. The court emphasized the protection of copyright while choosing not to issue a blanket ban on the accused user accounts at this time.

The Delhi High Court has issued an order requiring Meta Inc. to take down several Facebook links that were found to be hosting pirated content from Zee Entertainment Enterprises. The media company filed the suit alleging that various users were illegally monetizing Zee's proprietary audiovisual content without authorization.
During the proceedings, the court noted that Zee had established a prima facie case regarding copyright infringement. The social media giant is now obligated to ensure the specific infringing URLs are disabled or removed to prevent further distribution of the copyrighted material.
While the court granted the injunction for content removal, it declined a request to block the associated user accounts entirely at this stage of the litigation. The judge noted that such a measure would be extreme before the full merits of the case are decided, focusing instead on the immediate removal of the offending files.
