In the first interaction of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) with the centre, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda on Monday (July 20, 2026) assured the outfit’s spokespersons Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das that the government leadership will hold internal discussions on their demands. Even though thousands of protesters tried to march to Parliament, they were prevented by police on Monday (July 20, 2026).
The police action on one of the largest protests in the national capital in recent years left several people injured. The police swung into action amid an internet shutdown in the New Delhi district.

The CJP accused the Delhi Police of using excessive force against protesters during its “Sansad Chalo” march, alleging that several students were injured and Sonam Wangchuk’s wife, Gitanjali J Angmo, was pushed around, as the outfit continued its protest with a sit-in near Kerala House, after police dismantled the stage at Jantar Mantar

Activist Sonam Wangchuk announced on Monday that he would continue his indefinite hunger strike, saying the police action against protesters during the march has prompted him to extend the fast.

CJP alleges police excesses after crackdown, continues sit-in near Kerala House
The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) yesterday accused the Delhi Police of using excessive force against protesters during its “Sansad Chalo” march, alleging that several students were injured and Sonam Wangchuk’s wife, Gitanjali J. Angmo, was pushed around, as the outfit continued its protest with a sit-in near Kerala House, after police dismantled the stage at Jantar Mantar.
Police, however, denied the allegation that Angmo was assaulted as “completely false and misleading”. They claimed that “no individuals were subjected to targeted assault”.
The allegations came after police dispersed protesters attempting to march towards Parliament and cleared the protest site. By evening, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka, Saurav Das and Angmo continued the sit-in near Kerala House, saying the agitation would continue despite the crackdown.
