CJP protest Day 25:Wanghcuk’s health worsens; fast enters 17th day

Environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk and his supporters have reached the seventeenth day of their climate fast, marking 25 days of ongoing protests regarding constitutional safeguards for Ladakh. Medical reports indicate that Wangchuk's vital signs are weakening, leading to increased concern over his physical safety during the demonstration.

In response to the critical situation, a group of eminent Indian citizens including author Arundhati Roy and actor Naseeruddin Shah have released a statement. The group urged the protesters to end their hunger strike, emphasizing that their health is vital for the continued pursuit of their democratic demands.

The protest organizers have yet to officially respond to the call for ending the fast. The movement continues to seek discussions regarding statehood and Sixth Schedule protections for the region to preserve its ecological and cultural heritage.
