Bullayya College, IICT sign MoU for research collaboration

Dr. Lankapalli Bullayya College (Autonomous), Visakhapatnam, recently entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT), Hyderabad, to promote collaborative research, innovation and academic cooperation.

The MoU was formalised during a visit by a college delegation led by Secretary and Correspondent G. Madhu Kumar to the IICT campus at Tarnaka, Hyderabad. IICT Director D. Srinivas Reddy led the institute’s delegation.

During discussions, Mr. Srinivas Reddy proposed a joint research initiative on scientific processing and value addition of shrimp waste from the Visakhapatnam region to extract biomolecules such as glucosamine and chitin for nutraceutical and pharmaceutical applications.

The agreement covers collaboration in areas including natural products, nanotechnology, drug discovery, regenerative medicine, cancer research, polymer chemistry and chemical engineering. It also provides for student internships, faculty exchange, joint research publications, technology development and collaborative research proposals to national and international funding agencies.
