The Puducherry unit of Bharatiya Janata Party and Youth Congress on Wednesday held protests against each other over the NEET paper leak issue.
The BJP functionaries, including former Speaker R. Selvam, former legislators PML Kalyanasundaram and R. B. Ashok Babu, staged a protest at Raja Theatre junction to condemn the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi for staging a sit-in dharna near the high-security residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The BJP functionaries raised slogans against Mr. Gandhi and the Congress for “misguiding” students on the NEET paper leak issue. The BJP said the Congress was “instigating” students even after all those involved in the paper leak had been arrested.
Youth Congress protest
Meanwhile, Youth Congress organised a gathering of college and school students near Villianur to condemn the stand of BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre on the NEET paper leak issue.
Students from nearby institutions participated in the protest where they demanded resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The Youth Congress accused the Central government of being insensitive to the concerns of the student community.
Joint Secretary, All India Congress Committee, Palak Varma addressed the students.
