Bihar government launches doorstep land and property registration for citizens above 75 years old
The Bihar government has launched a doorstep delivery system for land and property registration catering to citizens aged 75 and above. This initiative aims to simplify legal procedures for elderly residents by eliminating the need to visit crowded registration offices.
Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary officially inaugurated the new registration system, which was developed by the Department of Prohibition, Excise, and Registration. The service allows eligible senior citizens to complete necessary paperwork and biometric verification from their own homes.
By introducing this facility, the state government intends to spare the elderly from the physical strain of long journeys and the inconvenience of standing in queues. A dedicated team will be dispatched to the applicant's residence to facilitate the official documentation process.
Officials stated that this move is part of a broader effort to make administrative services more accessible to vulnerable populations. The system is expected to streamline land transactions while ensuring legal compliance without physical hardship for the aged. Source: Department of Prohibition, Excise, and Registration.
