A 52-year-old man from the Rajampet area of Kadapa district has died while undergoing medical treatment at the Christian Medical College (CMC) in Vellore. The patient had tested positive for COVID-19 after presenting with symptoms including persistent fever and a severe cough.

This fatality marks the second recent death linked to the virus in the state, prompting the health department to increase surveillance across various districts. Medical teams are currently tracking a total of eight active cases, ensuring that proper isolation protocols are maintained to prevent further community spread.
