4 Indians killed, one critical after attack on ship at Odesa port in Ukraine
At least four Indian crew members have been killed and one remains in critical condition following an attack on a merchant vessel at the Odesa port in Ukraine. The incident involved the MV Golden Leo, which was carrying a total of 17 crew members during the time of the strike.
A missile or drone strike targeted the vessel MV Golden Leo while it was docked at the Ukrainian port of Odesa, resulting in multiple casualties among the international crew. Reports indicate that out of the five Indian nationals on board, four have lost their lives while the fifth is currently receiving emergency medical treatment for life-threatening injuries.
Authorities have confirmed that the ship was carrying a total crew of 17 people at the time of the explosion. The vessel was reportedly engaged in commercial operations when the port infrastructure was targeted, leading to significant damage to the ship and its quarters.
Diplomatic channels are currently working to verify the identities of the deceased and coordinate the repatriation of remains.
