22,000 Relocated, 1,200 Rescued As Flood-Like Situation Worsens In Gujarat
Heavy monsoon rains have triggered severe flooding across Gujarat, leading to the relocation of 22,000 residents and the rescue of 1,200 people. Navsari and Valsad remain the most critically impacted districts as emergency operations continue throughout the state.
Persistent torrential rainfall over the past few days has severely disrupted normal life in several parts of Gujarat. State authorities reported that Navsari and Valsad are currently the worst-affected districts, followed by Surat, Ahmedabad, Kheda, Tapi, and Dangs, where flooding has submerged low-lying areas and impacted transport infrastructure.
Emergency response teams, including the National Disaster Response Force and local rescue units, have successfully evacuated 1,200 individuals stranded by rising water levels. In total, approximately 22,000 residents have been moved to safer locations as a precautionary measure against the worsening weather conditions.
