Six farm laborers and their auto-rickshaw driver were killed in a severe collision with a speeding tanker in Telangana's Sangareddy district on Tuesday night. Six other individuals sustained serious injuries in the accident.

The incident took place around 8:30 PM near Satwar village in Zaheerabad mandal. The auto-rickshaw, carrying eleven women agricultural laborers, was making a U-turn on the Hyderabad-Mumbai national highway (NH-65). A tanker traveling at high speed from Mumbai toward Hyderabad struck the auto-rickshaw, causing significant damage.

Four people died at the scene, and two more succumbed to their injuries during treatment. The deceased laborers were identified as Rekhamma (36), Kavitha (40), Sridevi (45), Reshma (28), and Nikhita (30). The auto-rickshaw driver was identified as Devadas (35). The injured were transported to a government hospital in Zaheerabad, with the condition of two reported as critical.

Police have registered a case of accident and initiated an investigation. The agricultural laborers were from Rajagiri in Bidar district, Karnataka, and had come to work in the Budhera area of Munipally mandal in Sangareddy district.

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed condolences and directed district authorities to provide all possible assistance to the families of the deceased and ensure the injured receive optimal treatment.
