The deceased, identified as Anand, 45, was a resident of Ksheerasagaram. According to reports, the accused, Jyothesh, his elder son, visited his father late Thursday night to discuss the division of family property. An argument reportedly ensued, after which Jyothesh allegedly left and returned later that night in an inebriated state.

While Anand was asleep, Jyothesh is accused of attacking him with a knife, inflicting stab wounds to the chest and neck, which resulted in his death at the scene. Jyothesh also allegedly assaulted his paternal aunt when she attempted to intervene, leaving her with serious injuries.
